June 12: Virtually Yours with Ondjaki

I continue “Virtually Yours” my partnership with Goethe Namibia, a series of online discussions with contemporary authors from Africa. “Virtually Yours” aims to create an online platform for avid readers, writers, academics, publishers, agents, and anyone else interested in literature by writers from Africa. The series of online discussions held once a month from October has featured Abubakar Adam Ibrahim, Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor, Niq Mhlongo, Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi, Tendai Huchu, and Natasha Omokhodion-Kalulu Banda.

Featuring in this month’s Virtual Gathering is Ondjaki from Angola. His first novel, “Good Morning Comrades” explores the daily life of a 12-year-old boy and his friends at a time of when Angola is enduring a war.

Email your name and mobile number with “virtual” as the subject to library.windhoek@goethe.de to register for this Virtual Gathering and stand the chance to win a copy of his novel.
