Now in its 8th year, Ake Arts & Book Festival has brought over 700 artists, writers, poets, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, actors, filmmakers and thinkers together to dialogue and celebrate creativity on the African continent through panel discussions, art exhibitions, workshops, storytelling, book chats, poetry performances, a concert, stage play and unforgettable films.
I will be doing three events at this year’s at this year’s Ake Festival. On the 22nd, I shall moderate the launch of the e-version of Waterbirds On The Lake Shore on October 22 with three of the anthology’s contributors Yamikani Mlangiza, Howard Meh-buh Maximus and Fatma Shafii . I also have a book chat with Tayari Jones on October 23 and a panel discussion with Thando Mgqolozana, Kenanao Phele, Ainehi Edoro-Glines moderated by Kinna Likimani.
